How AI is Revolutionizing Social Media Marketing
AI is revolutionizing many industries and job roles. The same is true for social media marketing. AI is transforming the way we approach social media, shifting the focus from repetitive tasks to strategy and creativity.
This post is available as a podcast:
I was initially hesitant about how it could benefit my role at that time. Thankfully, I had some eager social media marketing interns that grasped it and started to use it on the tasks I had set them. I was impressed and my interest sparked.
Now some years later we have advanced automation and data-driven insights from the use of AI. It is true that AI enables brands to curate content, optimize ads, and engage audiences more efficiently than ever before. I am more impressed as each week goes by. In this blog I am going to look at just 5 key areas where AI is saving valuable time but also enhancing the quality and fun factor of my work and of course, campaign performance.
5 Time-Saving Benefits of Using AI in Social Media Marketing
AI is revolutionizing social media marketing by automating time-consuming tasks, allowing marketers to focus on strategy and creativity. Here are some key areas where AI offers significant time-saving benefits:
- Content Curation:
AI is revolutionizing content curation by saving time and helping to boost efficiency. This is my first of 5 suggestions for a good reason. Make sure you are in control and not the AI. Brand check all content and your company or brand legal guidelines. - Customer Service:
Chatbots powered by AI can handle customer inquiries on social media around the clock. They respond instantly, providing information, resolving common issues, and escalating more complex problems to human representatives. Tried and tested by many companies and is becoming a way of life.
Honestly I worked on a few chatbot related projects for customer service but never actually liked using it myself. That has changed. - Ad Optimization:
AI algorithms excel at testing different ad formats and targeting options to determine what works best for your audience, optimizing your social media ad campaigns in real-time for better performance with less manual intervention.
I run my own Google Ads for my personal brand for many years and love how AI is adopted. - Audience Insights:
AI can quickly process vast amounts of data to provide insights into audience preferences and behaviour. This topic I love. Providing insights from social media dashboards and linked conversations is one of my best skills but AI is catching up. It needs to add the brand and competitive context which is not easy for a tool to do. However, it still helps me to tailor my campaigns effectively and efficiently. - Scheduling and Posting:
AI-driven tools can determine the optimal times for posting content on various social media platforms and automate the scheduling process, ensuring maximum engagement. I have adopted this aspect with Missinglettr and that gives me a lot of fun 😉
By leveraging AI in these areas, social media marketers in their day to day routine can save time, reduce costs, and improve overall campaign effectiveness. It is true, if you give it a go!

Maybe not a big surprize but now almost all the social media tools have now made use of AI in some way or another. Hi Clive, I’ve been loving Missing Lettr for the past 2-3 years. I also love The RIght Blogger suite of AI tools, 85 different ones. It’s amazing how much we can do with AI today. Have a great day.
Hi Lisa. I totally agree with you. I described my journey with AI in this post and I use it every week now in one way or another. What I like the most is the gentle introduction of AI into the existing tools I have used for years. Like Canva, Gmail, SEMrush, search engines etc. This means if you tried to avoid the obvious tools like ChatGPT, etc, you would find it in the reliable stable tools you use week by week. Most tools did not go wild with it, but really thought how AI could enhance the existing experience. This I like a lot 😉
