Last night I watched Limitless, a great movie in my perspective. A young author in crisis found a new smart drug that allowed him to think and act much faster than before, improving his IQ and in a short time making him a very successful man. The movie will make you think about drugs, their power and how harmful they are. However, while watching the movie, I started thinking about the fast-changing world in where we live. Today we need to be fast in everything we do, at work, with family, fitness, social life etc.
The need for speed is now a necessity in order to be part of this world: everything and everybody is interconnected by new technologies. Information is flying around in bytes through the Internet, and attempting to have a break to reflect on things has become more and more difficult.
The smart drug described in the movie would be ideal. Could you imagine improving your IQ and impressing people around you (your manager, friends, family… well, anybody) and admired by all of them? All of a sudden, you are smart, and yes… also rich.
Even though the outcome of this pill sounded quite appealing, while watching the movie I could not stop thinking about how important it is in the real world to stop and enjoy life.
I have always been convinced that having objectives in life is important, and striving and fighting for them even more. How much time have we spent thinking about what we have achieved so far? How many fights and battles did we win? How many challenges did we face, and even overcame? I found the time to put these thoughts into words, and found them a bit old fashioned but still interesting and worthy of reflection. So, I hope they will be food for your thoughts as well.
Every single day we can find something new to learn about, and this helps to keep us fresh and encourages us to set new objectives. Do we understand the importance of being happy about our own achievements?
If we did, then we would be happier in our own lives and faster in setting up new objectives and fighting to succeed with them. Being happier and faster is something we can reach by just having a close look at our own actions. Now when it comes to the question about how to be richer than we are today, I regret to say that I do not have the recipe for that yet!
