I was “out on the road” many years ago as a lighting project manager in central London and among my select contacts was an architect firm, Arup Associates. I learnt a lot and loved calling on them. It was nice picking up projects at such an early stage compared to what I was used to with the building design consultants like Ove Arup, who I also had as a contact.
Architects leverage X (formerly Twitter) in various ways to enhance their professional lives. Here’s a breakdown:
Professional Development and Networking
- Stay updated: Architects follow industry news, trends, and discussions. Social listening can create a deeper view exposing conversations around new building designs and concepts.
- Connect with peers: Building relationships with other architects is crucial for knowledge sharing and collaboration.
- Discover new ideas: X is a platform for inspiration, showcasing innovative projects and architectural concepts. Pinterest is fast becoming a favourite with lighting designers too.
Marketing and Promotion
- Showcase projects: Architects can share their portfolio, highlighting completed and ongoing projects.
- Build brand awareness: Creating a strong online presence can attract potential clients.
- Engage with clients: Direct interaction with clients can foster trust and loyalty
How do Architects use X/Twitter as an infographic
Pauley Creative, a digital marketing agency for the construction industry, produced an infographic based on the results of a survey asking Architects how they used X/Twitter and what for. I found this very enlightening.
