Discover LinkedIn Reactions!
How will you use these new reactions? Authors now have feedback about how their content is appreciated beyond just a “like”.
LinkedIn Reactions Based on User Feedback
LinkedIn said that they made the selection of reactions based on their own research about the most valuable types of conversation members had while on their platform. This process included looking at the feedback given on LinkedIn to better understand what readers wanted to express and also what writers wanted to receive.
LinkedIn does listen to feedback from its users. I experienced this myself when invited to give feedback at the London LinkedIn office some years ago as a part of a group representing Philips. LinkedIn recently added support for hashtags, and now we have LinkedIn Reactions.
Read how LinkedIn made the announcement about Reactions.
The full list reactions are;
- Like
- Celebrate
- Love
- Insightful
- Curious.
Initial Opinions are Divided
I have posted the above video on LinkedIn and Instagram. I summarize the not so positive feedback received so far;
- There are many more bigger and more important issues for LinkedIn to solve.
- This is a B2B platform and these reactions do not suit it.
- LinkedIn Groups in particular should have been prioritized for important updates. This is a view I fully agree with. I am the owner of a LinkedIn group with over 60,000 members and have suffered due to the recent changes to group functionality for admins.
I encountered positive feedback too;
- “Insightful” and “curious” are the main two reactions that are likely to get a lot of use.
- The “Love” reaction was mentioned the least amount of times. However, it was described as the reaction to use when the content really moved the reader and sparked the emotions.
So in the end it is up to you. Which of the LinkedIn Reactions do you think you will be using the most? Or maybe none of them? They are here to stay so let’s see how the millions of LinkedIn users adapt to them.

Clive, I would use them if I could find them there. I haven’t seen them yet, am I missing something or are they not available to all? Thanks for sharing about them, I’m on the look-out 🙂
They are not live yet for most users. Due over the coming weeks. I am looking forward to using them.
