Psychology Making Your Emails More Appealing
Psychology making emails more appealing is not new. Psychology is the scientific study of the human mind and its functions, especially those affecting behavior in a given context.
Most of us encounter Psychology being applied in one way or another each and every week. Let me describe a very personal example.
I listen to my favorite tracks every week on Spotify. They use addictive playlists that are based on simple behavioral psychology. I eagerly await the music that will be selected for me in my “Discover Weekly” playlist. Spotify will soon roll out “Release Radar” which is another personalized weekly playlist.
Can Psychology enhance your digital marketing? It’s a challenge if you have not used it before.

Let me focus now on the first of those 6 links, “How Psychology Can Make Your Emails More Appealing”.
“Successful email marketing is clearing a series of increasingly higher hurdles. Getting subscribers to open your emails is the second one, but it’s also one of the more difficult ones. Once your open rates start to go up, you should also see a corresponding rise in actions taken and in revenue generated” – The Marketing Cloud.
In this infographic from the Marketing Cloud it illustrates how Psychology can be used. Starting from email subscriptions opt-ins to personalization of emails and more. “The double opt-in essentially boils down to the reciprocity principle, a basic law of social psychology that says in many social situations, we give back what we receive from others. Start the relationship by showing you respect the person” – The Marketing Cloud.
In conclusion, Psychology making your emails more appealing is very much possible. What is your opinion? Let me know by leaving a comment below, or sharing it with others. Thank you.
