Are you making the most of your Pinterest experience and Pinterest tools? Most brands and individuals stop at pinning and boards creation. Pinterest also has a few built-in tools that save time and sharpen your content planning, and they’re easy to overlook. Here are three that I consider as worth a second look.

1. Pinterest Trends: Your Built-In Listening Tool
Pinterest Trends works much like the trend tools on other social platforms. Use it to:
- Find inspiration when you’re short on content ideas
- Spot the latest themes people are actively viewing on Pinterest
- Shape your content themes around real audience interest instead of guesswork
Listening first and creating second is a strategy habit that pays off on every platform, and this is a quick way to put it into practice on Pinterest. I have many years of experience doing social media listening of any sort. I love it. It is a digital technique that I use to father insights BEFORE laying out an action plan.
2. Pin Scheduler: Stop Creating Pins One by One
Does creating pins individually eat up your week? It can be a bit of a chore when you are using the native Pinterest platform to post lots of content one by one. However, a scheduling tool is available as part of the pining process. It lets you:
- Schedule up to 30 days in advance
- Schedule up to 10 pins at a time
- Batch your creation time, so publishing becomes a planned routine rather than a daily scramble
Consistent publishing with less manual effort frees up time for the work that “moves the needle” as I always say. Spend more time analysing what performs and do more of it.

3. Instagram Account Claiming: Cross-Post Without the Extra Work
The third tool connects your Instagram account to Pinterest. Once connected, you can set up auto-publish to cross-post your Instagram content to Pinterest. That means:
- Less duplicate effort, since content you’ve already created works harder
- A wider reach from the same content
- A more joined-up presence across both platforms
Of course this is dependant on having an Instagram content plan that always consistently posts good content that is aligned with what works well on Pinterest.
Key Takeaway: Which Tool Will You Try First?

Pinterest rewards the teams and brands that use the whole toolkit, not just the pin button. Start with one tool, test it for a month, and measure what changes.
Your turn: Which of the 3 tools are you most curious to try, and why? Tell me in the comments or send me a message.
